Urban IT was founded in 2002 by Brian Zander with a straightforward goal: give small and mid-size businesses access to the same caliber of IT services that large enterprises take for granted, without the enterprise price tag or the impersonal service that tends to come with IT firms who get bought out by private equity.

More than two decades later, that mission has not changed. We are headquartered Westlake Village, and our team serves businesses throughout West Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, and Ventura County. Our clients range from law firms and other professional services to e-commerce companies and medical practices.

Running a business in Los Angeles is not easy. The competition is intense, the pace is relentless, and the stakes are real. The last thing you should have to worry about is whether your technology is slowing you down, creating unnecessary risk, or holding your business back.

I started Urban IT because I saw too many businesses frustrated by IT providers that promised more than they delivered. They were responsive during the sale, but hard to reach when something went wrong. They fixed issues after the fact, but did not always take the time to prevent them. Many business owners were left wondering what they were really paying for month after month.

We built Urban IT to be different. That starts with being honest about what we can and cannot do, and only taking on clients where we believe we can deliver real value. It continues with how we respond, how we communicate, and how seriously we take the responsibility of being trusted with your company’s technology.

Both. Most issues are resolved remotely within minutes, but we provide on-site support when it is needed. For clients in our primary service area across Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley, we can typically dispatch a technician the same day.

Our helpdesk is staffed during business hours with response times measured in minutes, not hours. Critical issues are escalated immediately. For clients on managed service agreements, we also proactively monitor your systems around the clock so many problems are caught and resolved before you ever notice.

Break-fix means you call someone when something stops working and pay by the hour. Managed IT is proactive: we monitor your systems continuously, handle maintenance and updates on a schedule, and work to prevent problems before they affect your business.
